Afghanistan will play a series in India during their tour of Bangladesh, with one Test, three ODIs, and two T20Is scheduled in Bangladesh, followed by a white-ball series in India during the Eid ul Adha break, before returning to Bangladesh to complete the remaining games of the tour.

Afghanistan’s cricket team is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in June 2023 to play two Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and three T20 Internationals. However, due to scheduling conflicts, one Test match and one T20I have been removed from the itinerary.

As per the latest development, Afghanistan will play one Test match, three ODIs, and two T20Is in Bangladesh, and then they will travel to India to play a white-ball series during the Eid ul Adha break. The exact schedule and venues for the matches in Bangladesh and India are yet to be finalized.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Cricket Operation Chairman Jalal Yunus said that Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) requested to play one Test match, move to India for the series, and then return to Bangladesh to complete the remaining games of the tour. The BCB accepted the request and excluded one Test match from the original itinerary.

It is also reported that Afghanistan will play a short three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka before their Bangladesh tour. The exact dates and venues for the matches are yet to be announced.

This series is expected to be crucial for both teams, as they are both trying to improve their rankings in international cricket. Afghanistan is currently ranked 9th in the ICC T20I rankings, while Bangladesh is ranked 7th.
