Ayush Badoni’s innings against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023’s 45th match:
Lucknow Super Giants’ youngster Ayush Badoni played an outstanding innings of 59* runs off just 33 balls against Chennai Super Kings in the 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season on Wednesday. Badoni arrived at the crease when LSG were struggling at 44/5 and played a gem of a knock that helped his team reach a competitive total of 125/7 in 19.2 overs before rain halted play.
Badoni was the only LSG batter who seemed to have tackled the CSK bowlers and stood tall amidst the wickets falling around him. After starting cautiously, he counter-attacked with a flurry of boundaries, hitting two fours and four sixes in his innings. Badoni’s 59* run knock included a crucial 59-run partnership with Nicholas Pooran, which helped LSG recover from the early setbacks.
Notably, Badoni hammered Deepak Chahar for 20 runs in the 19th over, smashing two sixes and a four, and took LSG to a competitive total. This innings was also Badoni’s second IPL fifty, and his 59* is now his career-best IPL score.
In 23 IPL games, Badoni has scored over 350 runs (352) at an average of 23.47. In 10 games this season, he has already scored 191 runs at an impressive average of 27.29. With such performances, Badoni has emerged as one of the key players in LSG’s lineup and has proven to be a valuable asset for his team.
