IND vs NZ LIVE: Team India has landed in Wellington, New Zealand. Hardik Pandya-led side is set to kickstart new white-ball era for Men in Blue after humiliating ICC T20 World Cup 2022 exit. SuryaKumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, and Rishabh Pant were among those Indian stars who were seen at the airport on Saturday. India tour of NewZealand will begin on November 18.
SuryaKumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Rishabh Pant were taking a cosy nap at the Adelaide airport as Team India jetted off to New Zealand on Saturday, Yuzi’s wife Dhanashree Verma shared a snap of the trio as they were all sleeping on each other. She wrote: “There is always a time for a great nap.”
Later in the day, Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj also shared the deets of his whereabouts. As he took his flight from Sydney to Wellington. Notably, Siraj was not part of India’s main squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. But now with the revamp strategy in BCCI’s mind, RCB bowler could become a consistent pick in the playing XI in T20Is.
India, led by Rohit Sharma enjoyed a near-perfect ICC T20 World Cup campaign but their journey came to a abrupt end as England crushed them by 10 wickets in the semi-final to knock them out of the tournament.
A transition was seen happening in the India T20I set-up even before this World Cup, with many youngsters getting opportunities to play in different series as key senior players were rested. That transition is expected to kick off once again as many senior players could be seen making way for the young guns in this format, starting from the NZ tour.
The likes of Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Prithvi Shaw have shown what they are capable of doing in this format and one might see them becoming vital cogs of the India batting line-up in the future. The next T20 World Cup will be played in the Caribbean and the United States in 2024. So, the transition has to start immediately if India want to go into the tournament with a settled team.
